Our advocacy programs offer help during a crisis, ongoing support, education about the legal system, and connections to other helpful services.
Victim Advocates are trained professionals who support people who have experienced crime or violence. Our advocates listen to each person’s story and help connect them with the right services and support. We can assist with paperwork, talk to landlords or employers, speak up for victims’ rights, and help make sure survivors get what they need.
Our job is to understand what each person needs and find the best way to help. That might include sharing information about what they’ve been through, explaining how the justice system works, helping file for protection orders or victim compensation, or talking with police on their behalf.

Our Victim Advocates are not the police, and we do not require victims to report crime in order to receive assistance. However, we strongly encourage victims to report any incidences of crime or violence as it is in their best interest and protection.
CVC Victim Advocates help all victims, regardless of type of crime or status in the criminal justice system. All advocacy services are free of charge to victims and their families.
