Domestic Violence Intervention Partnership

Victim Advocates in the Domestic Violence Intervention Partnership provide immediate crisis response and on-going support for victims of intimate partner violence. Most referrals are received from detectives within the Domestic Abuse Response Team in the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Family Crime Unit in the St. Louis County Police Department. Victim Advocates may respond at the police station, hospital, courthouse, or at the scene of a domestic disturbance call.

The Domestic Violence Intervention Partnership began in 1997 and is devoted to enhancing communication between criminal courts, civil courts, and the St. Louis City and County Police Departments in order to develop coordinated and effective information system, procedure, resources, and services for victims of domestic violence.
