CRIME VICTIM ADVOCACY CENTER - Donor Privacy Policy
The Crime Victim Advocacy Center is committed to the privacy and discretion of its donors. We acknowledge
donors in publications by name only; anonymity is fully respected upon request.
We believe that it is our duty to protect the personal information of our donors as part of the inherent
integrity of our agency. We protect our donors in the following ways:
- Credit Card Numbers: any donations made by credit card are done so through Paypal, a trusted, secure online
resource. Information (including the donor's name, billing address, expiration date, etc.) that is used is encrypted
using SSL, industry standard secure technology. Donors are able to enter their own information to protect themselves
from information ever being known to CVAC staff.
- Email Addresses: CVAC collects donors email addresses to thank them for gifts and keep them informed of agency
happenings. We do not disclose, sell, trade, rent or otherwise reveal donor's email addresses with a third party. Email
addresses are not solicited from other agencies...they are only used when provided directly by the donor.
- Addresses, phone numbers and other identifying or financial information: No addresses or other identifying
information is disclosed, sold, traded, rented or otherwise revealed outside of our agency's financial office. Donor files,
which often contain this information, is kept in a secure location within the agency's office. We do not publish any
information regarding donors other than name.
- Other information: CVAC may disclose aggregate use statistics (i.e., 45% of donors are male, etc.). Such disclosed
information will not include personal information.
Information obtained utilizing the "contact us" option online is also subject to the strictest rules of confidentiality and all of the
aforementioned guards.
